The program provided critically
needed school-based mental health services to ethnically diverse students and
families. Responsibilities included collaborative work with administrators,
school psychologists, guidance counselors, teachers, and other staff. Conducted
individual counseling and group therapy sessions as well as implemented a conflict
resolution program.
1996- 1997, Psychological Intern,
Verdugo Mental Health Center, Glendale, CA
The Hollywood Community Hospital serves chronically mentally ill adults with
three programs. These programs included in-patient treatment, partial hospitalization,
and an intensive outpatient program for patients with acute phases of schizophrenia,
bi-polar disorders, anxiety disorders, and some multiple personality disorders.
Duties included supportive treatment that either stabilized acute episodes or
prevented patients from deteriorating from their present level of functioning.

The VMHC served the severely and chronically mentally ill population in an outpatient
setting. Responsibilities included conducting intake evaluations, co-leading
group psychotherapy utilizing the psycho-social rehabilitation model, teaching
psycho-educational groups, conducting short-term individual therapy, and providing
case management services.
