| | December 1970 - February 1996 Twenty-five years as Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police at the University at Albany, State University of New York, Albany, New York. The Department had 34 sworn officers and 24 non-sworn security officers and civilian staff. I managed a budget of $2.8 million. Extensive crime prevention and white collar investigation experience. Knowledgeable in NY State Criminal Procedure, Penal Law, state regulations and OSHA workplace requirements.
| | February 1996 - present: Work as an independent security and safety consultant to to business and government. This has involved significant travel throughout the country conducting risk management and loss prevention audits using a form I designed. Also work as an expert witness in litigation relative to University public safety issues.
Significant Special Training
| | 1980 -Graduate of the FBI National Academy - a three month invitational law enforcement management training program held at Quantico, VA.1989- Attended a week long training program in New York City sponsored by Reid Associates on Interviews and Interrogations
| | 1993 -Attended an invitational FBI training session on the location of human remains; emphasis on magnetometer, ground penetrating radar, use of search dogs, and excavation techniques.
| | 1995, 1991, and 1987 Attended invitational Williams Homicide Seminar held at the NY State Police Academy. Made a case presentation to 250 investigators from around the state and nation at the 1991 session.
| | June 1963 December 1970 I went to sea as Third Officer and traveled the world; worked as a Senior Parole Officer in Indianapolis for the State of Indiana and the last two years before returning to New York, was Assistant Director of the Indianapolis Human Rights Commission where I conducted housing investigations.
